About Us
Plain Figures is a partnership between Sally Bigwood, located in Wakefield, Yorkshire, UK, and Melissa Spore, who divides her time between Toronto and Saskatoon, Canada. Sally and Melissa are sisters and both have dual citizenship in the United States.

Sally Bigwood (on the left) has worked in a number of fields including publishing, engineering sales, the NHS and local authorities. She started training others in data presentation in 1999. After beginning her education in the USA, Sally has a BA (Hons) from Reading University, a law degree and an MBA from Sheffield Business School. She is a judge on the Public Reporting & Accountability Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy. Sally is also a stand-up comic, performing at clubs and pubs in the North of England. |

Melissa Spore (on the right) is an instructional designer at the University of Saskatchewan in western Canada. She has worked in distance, community, and continuing professional education in Canada and the United States. Melissa has an MA from Columbia University, New York. She conducts research and writes about using technology to improve written and oral communication.. She also writes satire on academic subjects. |
